Just got reminded of this. Frank Reich, former NFL quarterback and President of Reformed Seminary in Jackson, MS, led the Buffalo Bills to the greatest comeback in NFL playoff history. The year was 1983 and the game against Warren Moon and the Oilers was well into the third quarter. Bills quarterback Jim Kelly was out hurt. Reich was filling in. The Bills were down 35-3. They won the game 41-38.
Reich sat in his car that morning and listened to the song "In Christ Alone" by Micheal English. In fact, he listened to it over and over. He was so touched by the lyrics that he prayed that God would give him a chance to share the words with someone.
God did. After the game, in his press conference, Reich shared the words with millions.
