This Easter - Seeing Him as He is

Every Easter, we celebrate what our Lord went through on our behalf.  The prophet Isaiah described Him as a man of sorrows, not handsome in appearance.  We know that He was beaten mercilessly and died a terrible death.  Althought it was entirely voluntary, the descriptions are of a physically weak Man.  We think of His resurrection because, afterall, that is what Easter is all about.  But I wonder if we really contemplate what Jesus Christ looks like in His resurrected state.  John the Revelator gives us a clue:
His head and His hair were white like white wool, like snow; and His eyes were like a flame of fire. His feet were like burnished bronze, when it has been made to glow in a furnace, and His voice was like the sound of many waters. In His right hand He held seven stars, and out of His mouth came a sharp two-edged sword; and His face was like the sun shining in its strength.        --Revelation 1:14-16
The truth is that the post-resurrected Jesus stands in awesome power.  Power greater than we could ever comprehend.  Power greater than all the universe - for He created it.

So, when you wander about the significance of Easter, know that our Lord and Savior is plenty capable of doing what He has promised He would do - in your life an beyond.

He is Risen.  Hallelujah!
